Homemade Pizza Dough

1 package active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 cup very warm water
3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1, 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
- In a one cup measure of very warm water, sprinkle the yeast and sugar. Stir to dissolve, set aside for 10 minutes or until mixture begins to bubble.
- Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center and pour the yeast mixture into it. Gradually work in the flour to form a stiff dough.
- Turn out onto a lightly floured surface, using only as much dough as necessary to keep dough from sticking. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
- Place in a lightly oiled medium bowl and turn to coat dough all over with oil. Cover with a clean towel. Let rise in a warm place away from drafts for 45 minutes, until double the size. Punch down and use as directed.
